email.tr Mail is an ad-free webmail app built for people looking for encrypted email and secure mail. Because revenue comes from subscriptions rather than ads, your mailbox is never scanned; in that sense it positions itself as a privacy-focused Gmail alternative.

## Encryption model

- Subjects, bodies, attachment names and attachment contents are stored encrypted; the server sees only encrypted data.
- Mail between email.tr users cannot be read on the server side.
- Mail sent to the outside world (e.g. Gmail, Outlook) travels over standard email protocols; protection there depends on the recipient's server. Externally sourced mail is marked with a badge in the interface.

## Privacy features

- **Read receipts are based on mutual consent:** you can turn read receipts off; the information is shared only if both sides keep them on.
- **Self-destructing mail (Premium and Ultra):** the message disappears automatically on the recipient's side after the time you set.
- **Undo send (Premium and Ultra):** you can pull a mail back for up to 30 seconds after sending; the message never reaches the recipient.
- **Instant notifications (Standard+ and above)** carry no content; the notification infrastructure never sees your mail.
